My friend and I decided that the weather in Galway and Connemara would be dry and sunny at the end of June. Well, we were half right! But it was touch and go when we arrived at Dublin airport to be greeted by a heavy downpour!
But it became drier as our coach headed towards Galway. By the time we arrived in Galway not only was it dry but there was a hint of sunshine
Rusheen Bay House
When I made the booking a year ago I was drawn by the glowing recommendations by other guests. I had not appreciated that it’s situated at the Salthill area, a coastal suburb of Galway, quite far from Galway city centre or even the Salthill hub. But the location turned out to be perfect, far from the amusement area for a start!
The bus stop for Bus 402 to and from Galway (Eyre Square) was a couple of minutes walk away from Rusheen Bay House. (Merlin Park to go to town an Seacrest at bus stand 6 to get back) There’re 2 buses every hour.
Rusheen Bay House was comfortable family home and it was great to stay there at a reasonable price and to enjoy a delicious cooked breakfast every morning
Connemara National Park and Cong village
We joined a day trip run by Galway tour to visit Connemara National Park and Cong village. We were blessed with sunny weather on the day. The spectacular scenery of Connemara, especially Kylemore Abbey, and the pretty village of Cong needed some sunshine to do them justice!
