Years ago when my partner and I were in Venice we took a tour to the Venetian islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello, in that order. We were taken to a factory making Murano glassware, with its own jetty, and spent the best part of the tour there. Fortunately we did not succumb to the pressure of buying some glassware there. After Murano we were left with just enough time for a tantalising glimpse of Burano. With hindsight there was no need to join a tour to visit the islands at all.
This time round (April 2018) we used one of our 2-day waterbus passes to visit Burano with a quick trip afterwards to Murano. This time the bridesmaid became the bride and how we appreciated her vibrant beauty!
In truth, the uniqueness of Burano needs no explanation. Its colours speak eloquently for this photographer’s paradise!!
