During my recent Jiangxi trip with Wing On Travel, I stayed at 5 hotels in 5 nights. The schedule looked daunting but the compensation was to sample some unusual luxury hotels in Jiangxi.
As there’s too much material I have separated the blog into 3 segments. The other two are:
“Jiangxi – a land of mountains, rivers and ancient towns” and “5 Unique Ancient Villages in Jiangxi’s Wuyuan County”
Nanchang Shangri-La Hotel
The Shangri-La brand promised luxury and it did not disappoint. The hotel faces the Ganjiang River 贛江 to the east and the Tengwang Pavilion across the river. My room looked out onto the spectacular Ganjiang River

Yueranxianju Hotel
The Yueranxianju Hotel was a boutique hotel located in the Gexian Village Resort area with a relaxing outlook. It’s a short convenient walk to the village.

Wuyuan Xinbang Hotel
It’s a palatial building within 5 minutes’ walk to Wunuzhou Resort.

Jingdezhen Kaiyuan Mingting Hotel
This hotel is unmistakably Chinese!

The Lushan Building International Hotel

This was the most interesting of all the hotels that we stayed in. It’s a historic building that dates back to the Republic of China era, originally built as a fortification by Chiang Kai-shek for the Kuomintang officers’ training. It is considered one of the three major historical buildings on the mountain and has been preserved as a cultural relic.
The hotel maintains its historical Republican-style interior, including the original officers’ restaurant on the second floor. It continues to operate as a hotel, having undergone a modern renovation in 2014 while retaining its historical character.
