- Baddesley Clinton – another National Trust Treasure

On a sunny day in the middle of March, my partner and I were in Warwickshire visiting a relative. As we’re all National Trust members we decided to visit Baddesley Clinton only 5 miles away. On my previous visit many years ago, the place was shrouded in a blanket of blankness. How different everything look under a cloudless blue sky!

By way of background, Baddesley Clinton dates back to 1100. Sir Thomas de Clinton acquired the property in 1290 through marriage and the estate became Baddesley Clinton. It changed hands several times but was the home of the Ferrers family for 500 years until it 1940. The estate was sold to the National Trust in 1980 by a descendant.
I didn’t go inside the house this time. Whilst the others chatted over mid morning refreshment, I walked around the moat to enjoy the serene setting of this grand old house. Come along with me for a tour that needs no description!
